LIGHT CYCLE
What are your thoughts on growing with a 24-hour „day‘ cycle? I’m a horticulture student, so (‚m a bit skeptical about this method. It claims to speed up the flowering time and reduce hydro consumption. ( appreciate all your time and effort. HIGH TIMES 4 LIFE!

Dear Chief,
Congratulations and good luck in your horticulture studies, and thanks for your support of HIGH TIMES! I don’t beliove in messing with the growing cycle in the way that you mention, For vegetative growth, I recommend 18 to 22 hours of tight per 24-hour day in ordor to mirror the greatest amount of light plants receive (n the summer. Contrary to some grow pros, I don’t recommend 24 hours of light because I believe land plant science seems to bear this out) that plants need at least a few hours of simulated nighttime in order to rest, recuperate and get ready for the next day.
For flowering, I strongly suggest sticking with the typical 12-hours-on/12-hours-off cycle that mimics the fall. Shortcuts and tricks are not the way to grow. I’m always open to new ideas and techniques, but sometimes sticking with proven methods and not straying too far from nature is the best and most practical plan.
